Prerequisites: None.
Acceptable for Credit: CSU
Lecture 1 hour, laboratory 2 hours. (0799.00)

This class is designed for the novice Internet user and for those who wish to go beyond the basics. It includes hands-on experience in connecting to the Internet and using tools such as e-mail,gopher, WAIS, telnet, world wide web, USENET, and discussion groups. The history and philosophy of the Internet are covered, including proper "netiquette."

This was the first class I signed up for in the IMT program. I had previous knowledge about the net, but did not have a clue about HTML... Our final consisted of turning in a homepage that would be put on one of the school servers. I became in love with HTML instantly... I couldn't believe how easy it was compared to the brain pain I initially prepared myself to endure. I became a mad freak engulfed in HTML experimentation... Since I felt an instant accord I opted to learn raw code and leave the editor behind... I downloaded all the HTML commands from Bare Bones Guide to HTML and the rest is history... The finished product consisted of over 60 different pages within the site... I also managed to fit in over 60 different graphics... Amazingly so the whole site was under 5.5 megs... OK so I guess I went a little overboard on the first mission... Nevertheless I managed to get an A ;> and can happily say I have never used the BLINK tag!

I have since changed the site as that was almost a year ago... Here is a link to my new about Francesca page. Fortunately for you it is not nearly as long as the first one... ;)
