Ethernet

A high-speed (10 Mbps) local area network (LAN) that consists of a cable technology and one or more sets of communication protocols. Developed by the Xerox Corporation, Ethernet is based on the IEEE 802.3 standard and uses the carrier sense multiple access with collision detection (CSMA/CD) method.
