Week One

Journal:

The first week of school we went over the basic objectives of the course. We also went over the guidelines for 3 major presentation projects which will also be due. We must start thinking about possible topics of interest for these assignments. We also went over various learning styles and possible instructional vehicles. Our first presentation will be due 2/23/98. This presentation does not have to be multimedia related. I'm thinking that I might want to center my topic around making a simple hemp macrame keychain. Hence it is still early and who knows if I will change my mind

Assignments (1/20/98):

Extend your electronic portfolio to include areas for competencies, a journal area to post your weekly progress, and an area to post other class assignments.

Write a summary on each of the following:

--What is learning?
--How does it happen?
--How do you know you have "learned?"

Assignments (1/22/98):

In writing, describe a non-academic learning experience including what it was that you learned, what were the learning steps (i.e. how you learned), and why you were successful at learning it. Describe your approach to learning something new. Update journal

Week Two

Journal:

Week two was alot of fun. We went deeper into the learning process. We broke down ideas and concepts and mapped out detailed processes of various kinds. My favorite though being these fun psychological tests we took in class.

Assignments: (Post to web by 1/30/98)

Develop 5 learning objectives in a topic area of your own choice. This should be an area that you already of content knowledge. Objectives may fall into any of the categories of cognitive, affective or psychomotor

Week Three

Journal:

We extensively disected our learning objectives which we developed in the previous week. We went over our possible topics for our first presentation. Mine thus far is still a simple step by step on how to make a hemp macrame keychain. Other possible varitations are making either a hemp bracelet or a beaded bracelet. I'm pretty sure we will be doing the keychain project though.

Assignments: (Due in Class 2/23/98)

Project assignment:

Develop and deliver a multimedia instructional module on a single topic that you have content knowledge. The presentation must be at least 20 minutes and not more than 30 minutes in length. The design and development of that module includes identification of subject content, identification of prior knowledge requirements (if any), identification of learning objectives and goals, sequencing of objectives, design of instructional strategies to be used (e.g. delivery method, activities, support materials, etc.), and assessment. Projects will be presented in class the week of 2/23.
