Instructional Project DesignIMT 106 Instructional Project Design - 3 Units |
This is an introductory course on instructional design. The course will be examining instructional methods, student learning "styles", learning outcomes and objectives, sequencing of objectives, measurement tools and the application of these in designing web or CD based information or instructional materials. This course will center around the competencies listed in the table below. |
| Competency: "the job applicant can : |
Measures: evidence you have the specified competency |

Develop learning objectives and outcomes; identify
relevant characteristics of intended audience including prior knowledge and
cultural background; and application of appropriate instructional methods.
|
Develop and deliver a multimedia instructional
module on a single topic that you have content knowledge. The presentation
must be at least 20 minutes and not more than 30 minutes in length. The design
and development of that module includes identification of subject content,
identification of prior knowledge requirements (if any), identification of
learning objectives and goals, sequencing of objectives, design of instructional
strategies to be used (e.g. delivery method, activities, support materials,
etc.), and assessment.
Develop and deliver a multimedia instructional module on a single topic that you have little to no content knowledge. The design and development of that module includes acquiring subject content knowledge, identification of learning objectives and goals, sequencing of objectives, design of instructional strategies to be used (e.g. delivery method, activities, support materials, etc.), and assessment. |
#7 |
Identify and develop measurement tools that assess learning | Identify and develop for each instructional project measurements that assess learning. |
#8 |
Apply appropriate principles in developing web
based informational and learning materials.
|
Develop a web or CD (Director) based project on a single module that will be assigned in class. Development includes building of "storyboard" and prototype in addition to final deliverable. Design and development of that module includes identifying subject content, identification of learning objectives and goals, sequencing of objectives, design of instructional strategies to be used (e.g. delivery approach, activities, support materials, etc.), and assessment. |
